I'm Sean Shapiro — better known online as the VoiceOverCop — but that's just one chapter of the story.

For nearly 25 years, I proudly served with the Toronto Police Service, specializing in traffic safety and education. Policing wasn't just a job — it was a calling I followed from a young age. But after a serious motorcycle collision on duty in 2017, everything changed. My time on the road ended, but my mission to serve didn't.

I reinvented myself, not by walking away, but by speaking up louder — using social media to educate, engage, and connect with communities in a whole new way. What started with a camera and a message grew into something bigger: a voice people trust.

Today, through projects like Ask a Traffic Cop, Better Traffic, and Shap Media Group, I continue to focus on making the roads — and the conversations around them — safer and smarter.

But this site isn't about pitching services or selling products.
It's about telling my story.
The journey of resilience, reinvention, and finding purpose after the badge.
It's also the foundation for my upcoming book, where I share the real lessons learned on and off the road — lessons about leadership, perseverance, and starting over when life demands it.

When I'm not behind a microphone or in front of a camera, I'm a family man first.
I'm a proud husband and father, a lifelong watch enthusiast, a photographer always chasing the next perfect shot, and a licensed drone pilot who still feels a rush every time I send a drone into the sky.

Everything I do today is built on the same values that shaped my career: authenticity, connection, and a relentless drive to make things better — one conversation at a time.
